Explanation:
The Department of Public Works, Fleet Management Division, on behalf of the Police Department, requires the purchase of 48 new 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 RWD vehicles to replace a portion of the existing Police Patrol and K9 vehicles that have reached or surpassed their life expectancy and road worthiness by age, mileage, and/or wear, and as a result are no longer dependable to support operational needs.
These 48 new vehicles with Specification #CC10706/9C1/PPV will be purchased off the Florida Association Bid Number FSA20-VEL 28.0, which is valid through September 30, 2022. Garber Chevrolet Buick GMC has agreed to provide to the City the exact pricing and the same terms and conditions for the 48 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 RWD vehicles as outlined in the Florida Sheriff Association Bid Number FSA20-VEL28.0.
The Director of Public Works and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the issuance of the Blanket Purchase Agreement to Garber Chevrolet Buick GMC for 48 new vehicles for the Police Department, in the total amount of $1,901,904.00.
Fiscal Impact:
The funding for the purchase of these vehicle replacements was included in the FY2022 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 335.519902.51900.564520.001381.000.000.
