Explanation:
The City of Hollywood owns and operates the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWWTP), the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), and a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) certified laboratory which provides continuous testing and analytical support to the treatment plants.
Under the leadership of the certified laboratory, the City performs more than 70 tests every day to monitor water quality, and more than 160 additional tests each month on drinking water samples taken throughout the City, for an overall total of more than 28,000 tests that are performed by the City of Hollywood each year to monitor the quality of the drinking water.
The City's certified laboratory also performs over 40 daily tests to monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and controls, and for regulatory sampling requirements, for an approximate total of over 14,600 tests on an annual basis.
After an extensive search that included presentations and webinars from a number of companies such as Ethosoft, Watertrax, Autoscribe, and the HACH Company, the Department of Public Utilities identified the Water Information Management Solutions (WIMS) software as developed by the HACH Company as the software capable of providing the technical competencies necessary to integrate ...
