Explanation:
Melissa M. Grossman "Trustee", property owner of 501 S. Surf Road is in the process of designing a single-family home for which they have received Certificate of Appropriateness approval from the Historic Preservation Board, pursuant to Resolution 24-CV-76.

As a result of the planned project, the property owner will be required to remove and relocate excess beach sand from the site to allow for construction activities.

The owner has offered to donate approximately 734 yards of beach sand located in the property to be used for beach renourishment in Hollywood Beach east of the Coastal Construction Control Line (CCCL).

The City, in coordination with our dune master plan coastal engineer, Moffatt & Nichol, has reviewed the information provided by the property owner and determined that placement of the sand is acceptable and beneficial to the beach ecosystem.

In similar situations, beach sand is recommended to be placed in close proximity of the existing location and spread across the area as described in the Beach Renourishment design drawings attached. The property owner has submitted a permit application with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Permit Number BO000877 for the proposed scope of work described in the agreement.

On September 4, 2025, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection provided a Notice to Proceed and Permit for Construction or Other Activities Pursuant to Section 161.053, Florida Status stating special permit conditions for this work
