Explanation:
The Oxygenation Flow Distribution Box ("OFDB") receives preliminarily treated sewage and apportions it among the five oxygenation trains at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant ("SRWWTP"). The existing OFDB odor control system was installed in 2005 and aids in the treatment of foul air released by the turbulent transfer of flows in the distribution box. The primary goal of the odor control system is to treat hydrogen sulfide emissions to mitigate localized corrosion and control nuisance odors that could impact the surrounding community. The existing wet chemical OFBD odor control system needs extensive maintenance and has reached the end of its useful life.

On September 4, 2019, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2019-255, the City Commission approved and authorized the execution of an Authorization to Proceed ("ATP") with Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. ("H&S") to provide professional engineering services for the design, permitting, and bidding of the OFDB Odor Control System Replacement Project at the SRWWTP, in a lump sum amount of $89,548.00.
