Explanation:
On March 4, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2020-056 approving and authorizing appropriate City officials to issue an Authorization to Proceed with Atkins North America, Inc. ("Atkins") for the establishment of a traffic calming program.
On June 2, 2021, Atkins presented its findings and list of the first phase of the traffic calming implementation plan for a list of various traffic calming improvements Citywide; and recommended where to place speed feedback signs. Therefore, the Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division is looking to retaining a company to construct these signs.
The desired services were competitively bid by Broward County pursuant to Bid No. PNC2122875B1 on August 30, 2021, and the current term of the contract is from March 15, 2022, through March 14, 2024, and was awarded to Horsepower Electric, Inc.
Horsepower Electric, Inc., has agreed to extend to the City the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in State of Florida Department of Transportation's Proposal and contract. The estimated cost for this project will not exceed $300,000.00.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this project was included in the amended FY 2023 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 333.149901.54100.563010.001185.000.000.
