Explanation:
On July 3, 2024, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2024-251, which approved the Five-Year Consolidated Plan for Federal Program Years 2024/2025-2028/2029 and Annual Action Plan and Projected Use of Funds for Federal Program Year 2024/2025 that includes the eligible activities under Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds, which include Public Facilities and Infrastructure.
The Marti Huizenga Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, Inc. ("BGCBC"), a Florida Not for Profit Corporation, has served as an invaluable resource for countless youth in the City. The BGCBC has submitted a proposal for financial assistance to support the renovation and inclusion of a new teen center within the BGCBC, located in the Boulevard Heights neighborhood at 1111 North 69th Way.
The Community Development Division has prepared the attached agreement with the BGCBC for the renovation of the Marti Huizenga Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, to include a teen center using CDBG funding. The improvements will benefit the youth within the City while providing a safe space for programs and services that have a positive impact on the academic success of teenagers.
This item seeks approval to execute agreements with sub-recipients to fund the programs listed above.

Funding for these programs is available in the FY 2025 Operating Budget in account number 115.160101.55400.584380.001863.000.000.
