Explanation:
On March 21, 2023, Wendy Bucknor (“Claimant”) filed a civil action against the City seeking damages arising out of a trip and fall incident involving a City-owned sidewalk that occurred on March 13, 2022. The City Attorney and Claimant’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $60,000.00.
If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this settlement is available in the City’s Self-Insurance Fund.
