Explanation:
The City Commission is requested to hold a public hearing on the proposed Five Year Consolidated Plan, One Year Action Plan and projected use of funds for federal year 2014/2015 - 2018/2019 Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Act (HOME) programs.
The Consolidated Plan is designed to help states and local jurisdictions to assess their affordable housing and community development needs and market conditions, and to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions. The Consolidated Plan is carried out through Annual Action Plans, which provide a concise summary of the actions, activities, and the specific federal and non-federal resources that will be used each year to address the priority needs and specific goals identified by the Consolidated Plan.
A notice to the public containing pertinent points of the One-Year Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2014-2015, and advising of the availability of a summary draft for public inspection of the Five Year Consolidated Plan and One Year Action Plan, was published in The Miami Herald Broward Main in June, 2014. This notice provided for a minimum thirty-day comment period. This Draft Executive Summary and the attached Consolidated Plan and One Year Action Plan Narrative for Fiscal Year 2014/2015 - 2018/2019 is made available at the Department of Community and Economic Development to allow the public the opportunity to review the preliminary recommendations of the CDAB and comment.
