Explanation:
The Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization ("MPO") prioritized and awarded funding to the City of Hollywood ("City") and the City of Dania Beach (collectively "Cities") for the design and construction of improvements along 22nd Avenue from Sheridan Street to Stirling Road. This funding was through the "2022 Complete Streets/Localized Initiatives Program" ("CSLIP"). The Centerline of 22nd Ave is the boundary line for the City limits of both Cities (Hollywood-southbound lane and Dania Beach-northbound lane).
Due to the road having joint jurisdictional ownership, the MPO requires both Cities commit to maintain all improvements made as part of the CSLIP, and through the Federal funding provisions Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") is authorized to undertake projects within each Cities' geographical limits and the Cities agree to engage FDOT to construct the Project.
The Cities and FDOT both recognize the need for entering into an Agreement, (Exhibit "1") designating and setting forth the responsibilities of each party for the Project.
This project is scheduled to begin construction in late-2025 and be completed in 2026, and the scope of work includes traffic calming improvements (four speed tables and three raised crosswalks), resurfacing, signing and pavement marking improvements, upgrades to existing curb ramps and sidewalks, and roadway lighting.
