Explanation:

The Hollywood Housing Authority (“HHA”) was created pursuant to the authority of the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Florida, including specifically, Chapter 421 Public Housing, to provide housing for low- and moderate-income families in the City of Hollywood, Florida, and has existed without interruption in the performance of its public purpose since November 5, 1974.

 

It is the duty of the five-member Board of Commissioners of the HHA to attend the regularly scheduled monthly meetings, review and approve all contracts, deeds, Public Housing Budgets, and other instruments made by the HHA, and to make recommendations concerning the business affairs and policies of the HHA.

 

Currently, the HHA consists of the following four members: Alberto Collazo, Housing Area Resident; and members David Dweck, Sara Lavenka, Erin Marvasti, and Octavia Mills.

 

The HHA has one board position available due to the term expiration on June 30, 2024 of David Dweck, who has reached his nine-year term limit.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
