Explanation:

The Police Department seeks to purchase mobile vehicle barrier equipment. This equipment is a portable tool used for various events and public spaces. The deployment of the equipment protects the public from accidental or intentional vehicle collisions with pedestrians. The barriers are procured by piggybacking the General Services Administration purchasing agreement.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

A portion of the funding contributed by the CRA, $52,000.00, has been identified in account numbers 166.669901.55200.563010.000018.000.000 and 163.639901.55200.552240.000015.000.000. The Police Department has identified Capital funding of $75,000.00 in account number 335.209901.52100.564531.001609.000.000. The Police Department is actively applying for grants to augment the funding.  Current grant requests include Urban Area Security Initiative (“UASI”) funds in the amount of $109,000.00 and State Appropriation funds. Equipment will be purchased as funds become available.
