Explanation:
The Public Works Department maintains and operates the Fleet Maintenance, Streets Maintenance, Urban Forestry, Roadway Maintenance, Building Maintenance and Trades Divisions. These divisions are responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing a complex array of infrastructure and/or assets.
An asset management software, such as Cityworks, is required to effectively track and monitor infrastructure and/or assets to guarantee optimal performance and operational efficiency. The acquisition of a new asset management software is one of many efforts made by the City to replace outdated, costly, and inefficient technology.
Black & Veatch Corporation was identified as one of the engineering consultants with ample and successful experience working with Azteca Systems for the implementation phases of the Cityworks software. Phase I implementation of Cityworks was completed for the Department of Public Utilities, and as a continuance of service agreement, this effort has been expanded to include the Department of Public Works to initiate the implementation of Phase II.
The current Professional Services Agreement allows the City to select Black & Veatch Corporation to perform the Phase II implementation of Cityworks software within the Department Public Works. It is in the City's Best Interest to have Black and Veatch continue with Phase I...
