Explanation:
In April 2024, the City was awarded a $500,000 Community Project Funding/ Congressionally Directed Spending Appropriation for the Coastal Resiliency Phase IV East-West Streets Project ("Project"). To receive the award, staff submitted a Community Project Funding Grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in February 2025 on behalf of the Community Redevelopment Agency ("CRA").

On February 13, 2025, HUD awarded the City a grant for the Project in the amount of $500,000.00; and, and on March, 13, 2025, a FY 2024 Community Project Funding Grant Agreement was executed by HUD and the City.

On June 18, 2025 the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution R-2025-422, ratifying the submission of the application to the HUD Community Project Funding Grant Program for the Project, in an amount up to $500,000.00.

The Assistant City Manager and the CRA Executive Director recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to execute an Interlocal Agreement for repayment to the CRA of the federal grant reimbursement to the City for the construction costs paid by the CRA to implement the scope associated with the Project, in an amount up to $500,000.00.
