Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

At the March 5, 2025 City Commission meeting, the City Commission supported the establishment of a Hispanic Affairs Council (“Council”) to act as a liaison between the Hispanic community and City.  The Council would apprise the City Commission and staff of specific issues of concern to Hollywood's Hispanic community and offer implementation goals for those issues.  The Council would serve the best interests of the citizens of Hollywood.

The Council is envisioned to be made up of five Hollywood residents of Hispanic background, selected by a majority vote of the City Commission.

The members of the Council would serve initial terms as follows:

                     Two members for one-year terms;

                     Three members for two-year terms;

                     All appointments/reappointments thereafter shall be for three-year terms.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
