Explanation:

Currently, the Building Division is within the Department of Planning and Development Services. On January 2013, JRD & Associates, Inc. was retained to review the organizational operation of the City of Hollywood's Building Division. On February 5, 2014, a presentation was made to the City Commission to discuss JRD & Associates, Inc.'s recommendations and the Chief Building Official's initiatives. Based upon the presentation, the City Manager recommends that the City Commission adopt an ordinance to separate the Building Division from the Department of Planning and Development Services and establish the Building Department as an administrative department of the city and to change the name of the Department of Planning and Development Services.
