Explanation:
The month of September is nationally recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Firearms are the leading method of suicide in Florida and the most lethal method. Access to a gun triples the risk of death.
The proclamation will be accepted by Barbara Markley, the League of Women Voters of Broward County.
The proclamation will be presented at the August 30, 2023, City Commission meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
This presentation will not fiscally impact the City.
