Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to expend Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds to defray expenses/costs associated with the seizure and processing of Forfeiture cases.    As a part of forfeiture proceedings, there are pre-suit costs as well as costs associated with initiating and pursuing forfeiture actions, including but not limited to court filing fees and public notices.

The expenditure of Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds to defray the costs associated with the seizure and processing of forfeiture cases will incur no cost to the taxpayers of the City of Hollywood and this expenditure serves a legitimate law enforcement purpose as prescribed by Section 932.7055(5)(a), Florida Statutes.
