Body

Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

Due to the removal of one board member, Alex Recio, who was ineligible due to his dual office holding with the Charter Review Committee, the Office of Human Resources requests the appointment of an applicant who also applied and was deemed qualified under the category for which Mr. Recio was appointed.

The board consists of Zulma Collazo, serving as an individual employed in the private sector in a personnel administration position, whose term is expiring June 30, 2025; Dr. Jalane Meloun, serving as an individual employed in the private sector in a non-management position, whose term is expiring June 30, 2025; Michael Anton, serving as an individual previously or presently employed in the public sector, whose term is expiring June 30, 2025; a vacant position which was recently vacated for an individual employed or previously employed in the private sector in a management section, the term expires June 30, 2025; Samuel Bentolila, serving as an individual self-employed or previously self-employed, whose term expires June 30, 2024.

The request for this board appointment is being submitted out of the regular board appointment cycle due to an appeal regarding a termination that the Civil Service Board recently received. There needs to be a consistent board throughout the appellate hearing.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
