Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities (“Department”) requires major repairs to Generator #2 located at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. This generator provides essential emergency backup power and is critical to ensure uninterrupted operations during power outages and to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Pantropic Power, Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEM”) authorized dealer for the Department's Caterpillar generator systems. As the OEM representative, Pantropic Power is uniquely qualified to perform the necessary repairs on generator #2 using genuine OEM parts, certified technicians, and warranty-backed services.
The proposed repair includes complete inspection, replacement of necessary components, and testing to restore the generator to full operational condition. Procuring these services directly from the OEM dealer ensures equipment reliability, continuity of warranty coverage, and consistency with existing City infrastructure standards.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for the repair of Generator #2 requires amending the approved FY 2026 Capital Improvement Plan as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to approval of this resolution.
