Explanation:
On February 17, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-034, authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute the Second Amendment to the Reinstatement of the Transportation System Surtax Interlocal Agreement with Broward County and the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization setting forth conditions for funding of municipal projects.

On March 26, 2021, Broward County finalized Cycle 2 evaluation criteria and opened an application portal for receiving funds for capital improvement projects.

The Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division has identified the following capital improvement projects for possible Cycle 2 Surtax funding:

1. Finalization of the routes, design and construction of approximately 50 miles of neighborhood greenway bicycle trails throughout various neighborhoods that were identified in the recently completed Bicycle Mobility Plan.
2. Design and reconstruction of approximately 0.5 miles of Hollywood Boulevard between 28th Avenue and the East side of City Hall Circle. The project will include buffered bicycle lanes, pavement reconstruction, geometric changes at key intersections, ADA-compliant paths, improved lighting, signage, and pavement markings and traffic phasing changes to improve the level of service for vehicular traffic.
