Explanation:
The Police Department and the Department of Public Works identified a need to renovate the existing shower rooms and their adjacent toilet rooms on the second floor of the Police Headquarters Building.  The construction documents were prepared by a consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued on March 5, 2015.  A Non-Mandatory Pre-bid Meeting was held at the site on March 20, 2015 and eighteen (18) contractors reviewed the existing conditions in the building.  Six (6) bids were received and publicly opened on March 26, 2015.  The responsive bids are shown on the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet.  The administration found the bid submitted by Ranco Construction Corp of South Florida, to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $102,217.00. This project was approved in the FY2014 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is available in account no. 34.2000.14489.521.006302.
