Strategic Plan Focus
Public Safety
Body
Staff Recommends: Presentation of Proclamation.
Explanation:
The City of Hollywood recognizes that our community’s safety, growth, and resilience depend on the strength of our homes, buildings, and infrastructure, both in everyday life and during disasters. This resilience is made possible by dedicated professionals in building safety and fire prevention, including architects, engineers, tradespeople, and others in the construction industry, who ensure safe building practices year-round.
These individuals, many of whom are members of the International Code Council, help develop and enforce building codes that protect us from natural disasters and other hazards. City employees, including police and firefighters, also play a vital role in public safety. Building Safety Month, sponsored by the International Code Council, honors these often-unsung protectors and encourages all of us to support building safety, resilience, and smart investment in our communities.
The proclamation will be accepted by the Development Services Director, Andria M. Wingett, and the Development Services staff.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this proclamation will not fiscally impact the city.
