Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.


Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts ("PRCA") has determined the need for improvements and renovations of park properties within the community to meet a variety of parks and recreation interests; and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, 2026 - 2027 Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program ("FRDAP") grant is available for the acquisition or development of public recreation facilities; and the FRDAP grant seeks the maximum $200,000.00 for improvements to Oak Lake Park to include, without limitation; renovation of the playground, pathways, pavilions, landscape and park furnishings.

The FRDAP grant requires a 1:1 match from the grant recipient; and PRCA will provide the matching funds allocated within PRCA's capital improvement funds; and

The Director of PRCA recommends the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to accept, if awarded, the FRDAP grant funds in the amount of $200,000.00 for the Oak Lake Park Improvement project.


Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $200,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2026 Operating Budget for the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program Grant as detailed in Exhibit 1.
