Explanation:
The Parking Administrator has requested the Rehabilitation of the Van Buren Parking area for use by City employees. This parking area has been identified as having inadequate lighting and also missing pavement marking areas. The Parking Division plans on installing lighting improvements and new pavement marking in the area.
The project was electronically advertised via BidSync in accordance with the City's Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.42 (A) on August 1, 2017. A pre-bid field meeting was held on August 15, 2017 with 6 potential bidders attending, bids were publicly opened at 9:00 am on August 31, 2017. The responsive bids are listed in the attached Bid Tabulation. The low bid for the Rehabilitation of the Van Buren Street Parking Area - phase III was submitted Cosmos Construction Management, LLC/DBA CGC Group in the amount of $55,858.00.
On October 4, 2017, the City Commission adopted R-2017-295, which continued the appropriation for previously approved Capital Projects from FY 17 to FY 18 and included the funding for the Van Buren Parking Area and funding is available Parking Enterprise Capital Accounts #'s 46.1100.13176.545.006301 and #46.1100.14176.545.006301.
Staff recommends the award of this contract to Cosmos Construction Management, LLC/DBA CGC Group in the amount of $55,858.00.
