Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.
Explanation:
Consideration by the City Commission of continuing the City's advisory boards and committees for one year. According to Code Section 37.25(A), the City Commission must consider the following advisory boards and committees in order to determine if they should be continued or sunsetted:
Sister Cities Advisory Committee has been in existence for more than one year and must be considered for continuance along referenced advisory boards.
Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; African American Advisory Council; Artwork Selection Advisory Committee; Education Advisory Committee; General Obligation Bond Oversight Advisory Committee; Marine Advisory Board; Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Advisory Board; Sister Cities Advisory Committee; Sustainability Advisory Committee; and The Young Circle ArtsPark Advisory Board.
A majority vote of the Commission will continue each of the above referenced advisory boards/committees.
Staff has recommended the sunsetting of the Young Circle ArtsPark Advisory Board, as their responsibilities can be consolidated within the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Advisory Board.
The Hollywood Centennial Celebration Committee has been in existence for more than one year and is set to sunset in January 31, 2026.
