Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The School Board of Broward County and the City have had agreements for the past several years, for reciprocal use of each other’s facilities.  On July 6, 2022, the City Commission approved a Reciprocal Use Agreement which expires on June 13, 2027.  The Agreement requires the City to provide paramedic services at high school football games and the Fire Department is no longer capable of providing the paramedic services due to difficulties in hiring off-duty personnel. This has led to the use of in-service Rescue units, which compromises the Department’s ability to maintain regular operational minimums. The School Board of Broward County approved the amendment to the agreement.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
