The Year 2014 Marks the 40th anniversary of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Communities across the county celebrated National Community Development week on April 21-26 to recognize the importance of CDBG and other landmark programs such as the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program to the lives of low-income people.
The City of Hollywood was one (1) of nineteen (19) Cities that received the John A. Sasso Award from the National Community Development Association (NCDA). A representative of the City of Hollywood Department of Community & Economic Development showcased the City's National Community Development Week activities during an awards luncheon that occurred on June 26th in Columbus, Ohio as well as received the award.
NCDA is a national nonprofit organization comprised of more than 550 local governments across the country that administer federally-supported community and economic development, housing and human service programs, including programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs.
