Explanation:

The City of Hollywood is experiencing severe weather events due to climate change including the sea level rise (SLR), storm surge (SS) and more frequent storm events.  The City in recent years has experienced frequent flooding due to its low ground elevations.  The Department of Public Utilities is proactively taking measures to mitigate the effect of storm events that includes updating the City’s Stormwater Master Plan. In addition, the City recently completed the condition assessment of all 10 stormwater pump stations it owns and operates.

Condition assessments allows effective prioritization of maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and hardening of critical infrastructure effected by sea level rise and other climatological impacts. Moreover, it identifies deficiencies and identifies actions that need to be taken for continued and effective services. This presentation will discuss the finding of the condition assessments of the 10 stormwater pump stations in the City.
