Explanation:
The Department of Community and Economic Development has identified a program curriculum that shall aid in the development of the skills and knowledge of unemployed/underemployed low and moderate income Hollywood residents in the retail industry.
Staff is recommending the funding of this program with $63,000.00 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to provide scholarships to low and moderate income residents to receive training and testing for the National Retail Federation Foundation National Professional Certification in Customer Service.
Staff anticipates that the program shall comprise of 5 sessions of a minimum of 50 students per session.
