Explanation:

 

February is National Black History Month which honors African American achievements and recognizes their significant roles in U.S. History.

 

Since 1928 the association for the study of African American life and history has provided a national theme for black history month, and this year’s theme is “Black Migrations”.

 

In honor of this year’s theme, Barry University, the Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc., AT&T Pioneers, and the City of Hollywood’s African American Advisory Council have partnered to provide a study panel on Black Migration Patterns Presentation and Panel Discussion and 3rd Annual Talented 10th Poetry Slam.

The proclamation will be presented at the February 6, 2019 City Commission Meeting.
