Explanation:
The attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to execute an application for the State of Florida Department of Transportation for the temporary closing/special use of Sheridan Street for the annual 4th of July beach festivities.  For each 4th of July celebration, to alleviate traffic and parking congestion, the City of Hollywood proposes closing Sheridan Street for eastbound traffic approaching the Intracoastal Waterway beginning at approximtely 8:00 P.M. in anticipation of beach festivities.  In order to close Sheridan Street for eastbound traffic approaching the Intracoastal Waterway on July 4th, the State of Florida Department of Transportation requires the execution of an application for the temporary closing of a state road.
