Explanation:
As approved by Resolution No. R-2014-252 the City of Hollywood entered into an agreement with the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (Broward MPO) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the production of final roadway construction drawings and implementation of Broward MPO funded Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets Project. Included in the approximately $6,800,000.00 grant is the design and construction of all hardscape elements which include roadway paving, grading and drainage, lighting, signalization, walkways, signage and pavement markings. The construction project officially began in June 2017 and is currently under construction. The expected project completion is in fall 2019, at which time the completed project will be handed over to the City.
The City is responsible for the design and construction of landscaping, irrigation, and site furnishings. These components shall be implemented following the fall 2019 project handover.
The City manages multiple facilities and roadways and the expertise of professional engineering firms is sometimes required. The Department of Development Services solicited a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to create a pool of firms for Civil, Landscape Architecture, Planning and Engineering Services. On December 19, 2018, through Resolution No. R-2018-400, the City Commission authorized the negotiation and execution of contracts with the five highest ranked firms, one of which was Bermello Ajamil and Partners, Inc.
