Explanation:
Earth Day is an annual holiday to raise awareness and demonstrate support for environmental protection. The observance of this special holiday promotes civic participation and political action. Hollywood is a Green Local Government, certified at the silver level by the Florida Green Building Coalition. The City has been a Tree City USA for over 40 years and a certified Community Wildlife Habitat since 2017. The City continuously strives to improve and maintain a healthy environment for all inhabitants.
Elaine Franklin, Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, Staff Liaison, Hollywood’s Sustainability Advisory Committee, will accept the proclamation.
The proclamation will be presented at the April 19, 2023, City Commission meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of the presentation of the proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
