Explanation:
The City desires certain additional beautification improvements to the intersection of State Road 7/Hollywood Blvd and the State Road 7 Linear Park to enhance the corridor aesthetic and to promote public transportation ridership.

The project aims to expand and enhance the public realm with retention area pedestrian crossings, sidewalk lighting along the linear park, activating the linear park with the construction of the playground, and improving the transit experience with installation of patterned crosswalks and additional shelters where warranted. These projects are listed in the City Capital Improvement Plan known as Hollywood Boulevard-State Road 7 Mobility Hub and State Road 7 Linear Park.

On February 6, 2013, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2013-027, which authorized the execution of a Landscape Inclusive Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement ("MMOA") with the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") for the purpose establishing maintenance responsibilities by the City for landscape improvements by the City on the State Highway roads.

On July 3, 2017, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2017-207; approving amendment No. 5 to the MMOA that established maintenance responsibilities by the City for the recently completed State Road 7 Landscape Improvements. These improvements included the landscaping of the State Road 7 Linear Park, stretching from Hollywood Boulevard to Johnson Street.
