Explanation:
The City Commission authorizes officials to accept a grant of $249,109.00 from the Area Agency on Aging Broward County, Inc. (AAABC). The grant will fund adult day care services at the Oak Lake Community Center for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
The City will provide a matching commitment by donating the use of building space valued at $189,150.00. Services will include health supervision and therapeutic group activities led by qualified staff.
The City Manager is authorized to execute all required agreements and grant documents, with discretion to decline the grant if it is not in the City’s best interest.
Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $249,109.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2026 Operating Budget for the Hollywood Adult Day Care Center Grant as detailed in Exhibit 1.
Funding for the City’s requires a $189,150.00 match which will be provided in-kind by donating the use of building space.
