Explanation:
The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing a road way improvement project to the State Road 7/US441 between SW 25th Street and Fillmore Street.

The Department of Public Utilities staff designed the Water and Sewer Improvement - Phase I project, between Pembroke Road and Fillmore Street, to install  sewage collection piping along the US441 corridor and to implement necessary upgrades to the existing water distribution piping.

The City of Hollywood and FDOT executed the Utility Work by Highway Contractor Agreement which combines FDOT road work and City's water and sewer piping improvement work as a joint project.

A lift station needs to be installed as a separate project in the vicinity of the intersection of US441 and Funston Street to serve the City's gravity sewer system along the US441 corridor.

The FDOT is willing to convey a portion of the FDOT's right of way to the City at no cost, via the attached Quit Claim Deed, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to accommodate the construction of a lift station to serve the new sewer system.

The City Commission has determined that the attached Quit Claim Deed may be considered in the best interest of the citizens of Hollywood
