Explanation:
The City of Hollywood Firefighters’ Pension Board was created in 1963 and amended in 1976 to have the City Commission appoint a designee to a two-year term on the pension board. The Hollywood Firefighters’ Pension Fund’s purpose is to invest and re-invest the assets of the pension fund in investments that are allowable under the pension plan, for the sole and exclusive purpose to fund in whole or part those benefits which all members in the plan are entitled to, and to acquire the knowledge necessary to accomplish this in a prudent manner.
The Board consists of five members; one appointed by the City Commission (serving a two-year term), the Chief of the Fire Department or designee (serves as long as he/she remains Chief), and three regularly employed Firefighters (serving three-year terms set at different intervals, so that one member is up for election every year).
That two-year term currently held by Jason Rosner expires June 30, 2024.
Fiscal Impact:
This resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
