Explanation:
Leslie Wetherell with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and a representative from The Corradino Group will provide an update on the I-95 Project Development & Environmental (PD&E) Study from South of Hallandale Beach Boulevard to North of Hollywood Boulevard in advance of the upcoming Public Hearings in March.

FDOT District Four has been working on the I-95 PD&E Study from South of Hallandale Beach Boulevard (SR 858) to North of Hollywood Boulevard (SR 820), Financial Project ID# 436903-1. The PD&E Study is proposing to improve operations and safety to Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pembroke Road, and Hollywood Boulevard interchanges.

In 2021, the City Commission (R-2021-242) rejected the alternative proposal and recommended the no-build alternative or to modify the alternative project. Three modifications were identified to be addressed with the alternative proposal.

In 2023, the City Commission approved supporting FDOT's modified alternative proposal for the I-95 PD&E Study (R-2023-082). The modified alternative proposal addressed the city's concerns: 1) eliminating direct access between Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pembroke Road, and Hollywood Boulevard, 2) eliminating Hollywood emergency vehicle access to the project segment of I-95, and 3) FDOT's drainage needs and their intention to utilize portion of the Sunset or Orangebrook Golf Course.

FDOT has refined the city's preferred alternative and will be holding Public Hearings for the project on March 25 (virtual) and March 27 (in person).
