Explanation:

The Department of Public Works applied to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Fiscal Year 2024 Urban and Community Forestry - Inflation Reduction Act grant program for the Tree Canopy Enhancement Project and has been awarded $56,250.00. The purpose of grant program is to develop or enhance urban and community forestry programs. The grant funds will be used to enhance the City’s tree canopy by replacing approximately 51 trees determined to be in poor condition.

 

The grant program does not require a cash match. 

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

If approved, grant funding in the amount of $56,250.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2025 Operating Budget for the Tree Canopy Enhancement Project as detailed in Exhibit 1.
