Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

 

Explanation:

Certain periodic revisions to the authorized number of positions are appropriate and necessary during the fiscal year.

 

This Resolution seeks to adjust the number of authorized full-time positions, job classifications and pay grades established as part of the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget. These adjustments are necessary to effectuate the transition of staff from the CRA to the City.

 

This Resolution authorizes the following changes:

 

                     Within the Office of Communications, Marketing and Economic Development

o                     Add 1 Public Relations Marketing & Media Coordinator

                     Within the Office of Procurement and Contract Compliance:

o                     Add 1 Procurement Specialist

                     Within the Department of Development Services

o                     Add 1 Principal Planner and 1 Senior Project Manager

                     Withing the Department of Public Works

o                     Add 5 Public Works Technician II

o                     Add 2 Public Works Technician III

o                     Add 1 Public Works Technician IV

o                     Add 2 Public Works Technician V

o                     Add 1 Beach Maintenance Supervisor

 

The changes listed above increases the number of positions authorized for Fiscal Year 2025 from 1,476 to 1,491.

 

 

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

A companion resolution (Budget Amendment) will recognize additional funding for the 15 positions through a transfer of funding from the Downtown and the Beach Districts of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
