Explanation:

The June 6th CRA Board meeting agenda included a presentation in regard to the design concepts for twenty signalization cabinets located within the Downtown District of the CRA. The design concepts were the product of a contest for young aspiring artists who reside in Hollywood and chosen by the Mural Review Committee.

The process of affixing vinyl wraps that depict artwork on signalization cabinets, when cabinets on located on State Roads involves Broward County Public Works Department Traffic Engineering Division and the Florida Department of Transportation.

The County requires an application for permit for construction on the public right-of-way, while the State requires a Community Aesthetic Feature Agreement (CAFA).  Numerous attachments are required for both processes with the CAFA requiring that a resolution be passed by the lead government agency.  We anticipate the project to move forward soon after all requirements are met.

The cost for the installation is approximately $600 per cabinet for a total amount of approximately $12,000.00.  Funding for this expense is available in account number 66.0100.07302.552.006301 - Small Capital Improvement Projects.
