Explanation:
The City operates the Wastewater System which consists of wastewater collection/transmission system, 88 sewer lift stations, the reuse supply system within the City's corporate limits and the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Department of Public Utilities has the responsibility for planning, regulating, designing, constructing, operating and maintaining this wastewater system. An updated Wastewater Master Plan is necessary to most effectively fulfill the City's responsibilities, comply with regulatory programs at various levels (federal, state, county and local), provide a high level of service to its residents, accommodate growth and economic development, and protect public health, safety and the environment.
On October 7, 2020, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2020-252 authorizing the appropriate City officials to negotiate an agreement with the highest ranked firm, Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. to provide Professional Engineering Services related to updating the Wastewater Master Plan to be considered by the City Commission at a later date. Department of Public Utilities staff requested a proposal from Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. and negotiated the attached agreement.
The total cost of the Wastewater Master Plan is $3,295,477.00 and it will be completed in two phases. The fee for Phase I of the Wastewater Master Plan is in the lump sum amount of $1,490,619.00.
