Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs (“PRCA”) currently operates licensed school aged after school childcare programs at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Kay Gaither, and McNicol Community Centers.
These centers meet the requirements to apply for grant funding for the upcoming State of Florida, Dept. of State/ Division of Early Learning through Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, Inc. Child Care Stabilization Subgrant Program- Round II.
PRCA would like to apply for this grant and accept funding, if awarded, to fund improvements, programming supplies and equipment at these centers.
Fiscal Impact:
If approved, grant funding in the amount of $75,000 will be appropriated in the FY 2023 Operating Budget for after care services as detailed in Exhibit 1.
