Explanation:
On October 9, 2025, the City Commission approved Resolution R-2025-358, approving the agreement with Broward County regarding the Shore Protection Project, Segment III. While the County’s contractor was performing construction, concerns arose pertaining to certain elements of the project deliverables such as the ratio of recreational beach width to dune width, post and rope locations, access points, and other design and public safety considerations. As such, on April 15, 2026, the City Commission directed that the County stop work to allow City staff to review the matter with County staff and then bring back an agenda item for the City Commission to consider necessary actions regarding the agreement.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
