Explanation:
The "Charles F. Vollman Certificate of Appreciation" award was established by Hollywood Council of Civic Associations to recognize civic involvement in the City of Hollywood.
 
Mr. Vollman had a passion for maintaining relationship with local neighbors and government officials alike.  He believed in building a strong society where his dedication and integrity ensured that all measures carried out in the name of the community was executed by local neighbors and government officials with honor and accepted by all with satisfaction.  His unique approach to volunteerism formed the basis for this award.
 
Numerous nominees were submitted and after careful consideration one outstanding nominee, Ellen Mata, was selected.
 
Ellen Mata is a long term Hollywood resident and has been active in the community for many years.  She has worked tirelessly as an advocate for civic improvement bother in her neighborhood of North Central, as well as on many city-wide issues.
