Explanation:
The month of September is nationally recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Firearms are the leading method of suicide in Florida and the most lethal method. Access to a gun triples the risk of death.
The proclamation will be accepted by a representative from the Gun Violence Prevention Committee, League of Women Voters’ of Broward County.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
