Explanation:
This week provides an opportunity to showcase Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Federal funded projects, and to encourage our congressional representatives to continue supporting the CDBG and HOME Programs. Additionally, the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program has been included, as State funding is critical to Hollywood's affordable housing strategies.
The Department of Community and Economic Development is committed to enhancing its outreach to the community by working with its partners to assist in promoting and marketing the various housing and social service initiatives. The celebration of National Community Development Week gives the City an opportunity to highlight the partnerships established with neighborhoods, non-profit service providers, the Community Development Advisory Board and program supporters.
