Explanation:
The Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department currently utilizes Stryker powered ambulance stretcher systems throughout its emergency medical fleet. Maintaining a standardized stretcher platform provides operational efficiencies through consistent equipment operation, standardized employee training, compatibility with existing ambulance mounting systems and accessories, reduced maintenance complexity, streamlined replacement-parts inventory, and continued use of the City's existing manufacturer-supported maintenance program.

The purchase includes five Power Pro 2 Powered Ambulance Stretchers, five battery charging systems, ten replacement batteries, five power cords, and an eight-year service period consisting of the initial one-year warranty and seven years of ProCare coverage. Three stretchers will be placed into service on the Department's new incoming rescue units. The remaining two will be used with the Department's new EMS carts to enhance emergency medical response capabilities within the Downtown and Beach Community Redevelopment Agency districts, including areas where traditional rescue vehicles may have limited access.
