Explanation:
On March 3, 2021 the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-058, authorizing appropriate officials to submit a pre-application grant packet for Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Funds from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity ("DEO") in the amount of $760,335.00.
On June 16, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution R-2021-154, approving and authorizing the appropriate officials to submit a final application grant packet for Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Funds from the DEO in the amount of $760,335.00.
Staff submitted grant applications for:
1. Small Business Asst. $250,000.00
2. HVAC Replacement Martin Luther King (MLK) $340,000.00
3. Laptops for the provision of Public Services
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 80,000.00
4. Wiring and Networking for Community Centers
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 70,000.00
5. General Admin. for Business Assistance $ 20,335.00
Total CDBG-CV2 Investment $760,335.00
Staff desires to reallocate funds to other eligible activities, as follows:
1. Public Services (Homeless Services) $590,000.00
2. Laptops for the provision of Public Services
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 80,000.00
3. Wiring and Networking for Community Centers
MLK, Washington Park, Kay Gaither, Driftwood $ 70,000.00
