Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts (“PRCA”) wants to improve the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center playground by replacing the existing playground equipment with new equipment selected by the community. This improvement aligns with the City’s strategic focus area of Quality of Life and Strong Neighborhoods by providing an increased and enhanced play area for all children.
The desired equipment was competitively bid by Sourcewell through RFP No. 101625 for Playground, Water Play and Aquatic Equipment, Site Amenities, and Outdoor Fitness Equipment with Related Accessories and Services on August 28, 2025, and awarded to PlayPower Inc. (“PlayPower”) under Contract No. 101625-PLP (“Contract”).
The current term of the Contract is from January 6, 2026, through December 17, 2029, with an option to extend the Contract for three additional one-year terms. Playworx has agreed to extend to the City the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the Contract.
Playworx Playsets, LLC is a recognized and approved distributor for PlayPower.
The Director of the Department of PRCA and Director of Procurement and Performance Management recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of a Master Services Agreement with Playworx Playsets, LLC for a new playground system in an amount up to $314,844.32.
